Baby News

Look here for up to date information on our new baby. Here you will find current news and also those things that are happing in the near future.

May 2008

12 MAY 2008: Seventh Ultrasound, 32 weeks, 3 days. This ultrasound was to check on Kishia's placenta as it has been low so far during the pregnancy. The scan showed her placenta still very low, just about 1 cm away from her cervix. So, we will have another ultrasound in 4 weeks to see if it changes and if not, the doctor may decide that a c-section is needed as the risk to Kishia can be great due to the excessive bleeding that could occur during labor. Jackson weighed in at 4 lbs, 9 oz and as you can see from the picture below on the right, he has Kishia's chubby cheeks and button nose!

March 2008

13 March 2008: Sixth Ultrasound, 24 weeks. Baby Jackson cooperated a little better this time around and the tech was able to get all of the shots of his heart that they needed. Everything was fine and he is developing well. We got to see him practicing his breathing, which was very good timing for us, so that was pretty neat. He was 1 lb., 7 oz. and 11 inches long already!

February 2008

15 February 2008: Fifth Ultrasound, 20 week ultrasound. This is generally when soon-to-be parents find out the sex of the baby but since we already know, it was just to make sure he is growing properly. Jackson is approx. 13 oz and is a healthy boy, all of the measurements were good. There was one exception though, the tech could not get a good look at the heart to see if that was developing properly. This was due to Jackson not cooperating, he would not turn over so that we could see his chest. He finally turned over for a very, and I mean very short period then he waived at us and turned back (see left picture). Because Jackson would not cooperate we have to go back in four weeks for another ultrasound to make sure his heart is developing properly. So we now know that he is indeed a stubborn Haberle!!!

January 2008

03 Janauary 2008: Fourth Ultrasound. We went to take the screening for genetic diseases and they needed to do an ultrasound in order to measure the fluid on the the brain stem. During the ultrasound Baby Haberle parted his legs and we found out that Baby Haberle is indeed a little boy. Imagine how excited father-to-be is at this point! The measurements were all within the tolerances for a healthy baby boy. He measured 14w3d and he is only 13w6d, therefore he is in the 97th percentile. Of course Kishia blamed the size on me.

December 2007

07 December 2007: Third Ultrasound. What a great experience we had! Along with seeing our baby with all of his/her appendages, we were also able to hear the heart beat. Baby Haberle is now 1 1/2 inches long and is growing rapidly. Baby Haberle also had a bad case of the hiccups during the ultrasound.

November 2007

14 November 2007: Second Ultrasound. During the second ultrasound, Baby Haberle was 6w 5d and the proud parents were able to see the heart beat (one of the most moving experiences of my life- Charlie).

06 November 2007: First Ultrasound. We had our first ultrasound today and everything looks good and healthy and there is only ONE baby in the womb!
